Pacific Cascade Federal Credit Union runs an impressive program for new-families. It is called BABIES IN THE WORKPLACE.
“Bob Harris, our CEO, learned of another credit union doing this in a different state and decided we should implement it. It’s been a success so far. People love this” writes Debi Bennett, VP Marketing.
Daisy C.H.A.I.N. Creating Healthy Alliances In New-Mothering appreciates Pacific Cascade Federal Credit Union offering employees/families a program that helps to encourage new dialogue and practice in our community. Navigating the challenges of career and parenting is not an easy task for new-families. Programs like Babies in the Workplace provide a successful model for other employers to implement, while supporting mothers and fathers. Well done!
Babies in the Workplace started in 2006. Both fathers and mothers utilize this valuable program. Babies are encouraged to come to work with a parent until they reach 6 months or begin to crawl.
“We currently have four babies in our offices right now…Staff and members alike enjoy the babies..”
“Under the Oregon Family Leave Act (“OFLA”) qualified employees are eligible to take up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave for the birth or adoption of a child..At the Credit Union, employees may also participate in the Credit Union’s Babies in the Workplace Program.”- from the policy manuel.
